Ardbeg Corryvreckan 70 cl. 57,1%

Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky

Ardbeg Corryvreckan has its name from the famous Malstream north of Islay, where only the brave souls will dare out. Whirling aromas and rapid streams of deep, peaty, pubbed taste lurks beneath the surface of this beautifully balanced DRAM. Like the Malstream, Corryvreckan is not for the timid! Named “The World’s Best Single Malt” in 2010 by World Whiskies Awards.

Ardbeg Corryvreckan has a nice amber color and a intoxicating, intense and powerful scent. Swing the glass and deep your nose in rapid streams of tarred rope, Kreosote and linseed oil. A collision between waxy dark chocolate, warm blackcurrant and brown farin with an explosion of rich cherries and earthy pine needles from the depth. From salty spices come a salt character with acidic, crispy seaweed and smoky bacon swirling on the surface, with hint of sweet vanilla, spicy carnations and blueberries. Encourage its dangerous depths with the intoxicating power of menthol, molasses and chilisauce.

Spring in the malstretch and rapid streams of taste overhead on the palate and bombard the tongue: deep, pricey and cool. The first spring produces cool, pricey steak in pepper sauce with the acidity of crispy seaweed. When you come deeper down, you can encounter a mouthful black, tared espresso coffee that covers the mouth with rich dark fruits (blackcurrants, blueberries and cherries) and bitter almonds. As the taste penetrates deeper, pulling star anise and walnut tree the palate before surprisingly calcareous violets come to the surface.

The aftermake is long, deep and remains strong, with black tar coffee, chocolate coated cherries and strong pepper sauce. The lingering memories of your mysterious and daring journey into Corryvreckan.

Ardbeg is a whiskey distillery on the south coast of the Scottish island, Islay. The island is known for its heavily smoked whiskeys, and Ardbeg is no exception with a PPM (Phenol Parts per million), which is usually around 55.

The distiller was founded in 1815, and the sealed and sweet malt whiskey’s from the ardbt have been incredibly popular over the past few years.

The capacity is 1.4 million liters of pure alcohol a year, and ardbbeg running for full steam. Extensions are planned that will increase capacity to 2.4 million liters, which is a good idea for Ardbegmanien not wanting to take end.
