Althea Prosecco Superiore – Brut Nature Sui Lieviti 75 cl.
Valdodobbiadene D.O.C.G
Althea Prosecco Superiore Brut Nature Sui Lieviti is a Valdobbiadene DOCG produced in the traditional “col fondo” style, where the second fermentation takes place in the bottle and the wine remains on its lees without disgorgement. It is made from 100% hand-picked Glera grapes from the eastern hills of Conegliano–Valdobbiadene, harvested from the second half of September. As a Brut Nature, it contains no residual sugar and has an alcohol level of around 11%, resulting in a bone-dry, fresh and highly authentic expression of Prosecco Superiore.
In the glass, it appears straw yellow and slightly cloudy, with a fine, persistent perlage. The nose is subtle and refined, showing typical bread-crust notes from extended lees contact, alongside delicate hints of light fruit. On the palate it is dry, crisp and focused, with vibrant acidity and a long, persistent finish. You can serve it cloudy by gently mixing the lees into the wine for extra texture and yeasty complexity, or pour carefully to leave the sediment in the bottle if you prefer a clearer style. Ideal serving temperature is 6–8 °C.
This Brut Nature Sui Lieviti is excellent as an aperitif and pairs beautifully with traditional antipasti such as aged cheeses, salami and cured meats. It is also a great match for fried fish or vegetable tempura, where its dryness and refreshing acidity cut cleanly through the crispy, savoury flavours.
The wine is produced by Azienda Agricola Althea, a family-run estate in the heart of the Conegliano–Valdobbiadene hills. Founded in the early 2000s by Marika Drusian, the winery today farms around 13 hectares of Glera vines on the surrounding slopes. Prosecco Superiore in its various styles – including Sui Lieviti, Brut, Extra Dry and Cartizze – forms the core of the range. Hand-harvesting, careful vineyard work and a focus on freshness, minerality and elegance are central to the estate’s philosophy and can be felt in every bottle.
