Macallan – The Harmony Collection Vol. 5 Jing is the fifth release in the acclaimed Harmony series, created in collaboration with British tea house JING. The inspiration comes from the rare and exclusive Phoenix Honey Orchid Oolong tea, celebrated for its complex aromas of honey, fruit, and floral notes – a sensory experience that is beautifully reflected in this whisky.
The whisky has been matured primarily in sherry-seasoned American oak casks, enriched by depth from sherry-seasoned European oak, and completed with a subtle layer of complexity from ex-bourbon casks. The result is a rich and balanced single malt, uniting fruitiness, sweetness, and delicate spice.
On the nose, ripe peaches, apricots, and tropical fruits unfold, joined by floral honey, toffee, and a touch of oak. The palate is indulgent and silky with notes of syrupy peach, citrus zest, and gentle floral tones, leading into a long, elegant finish with a refined, tea-like dryness.
Bottled at 43.9%, it is presented in a sustainable gift box made from repurposed tea leaves – a fitting tribute to both the whisky and its tea-inspired roots.
