Tarquin’s Cornish Pastis 70 cl. 42%

Tarquin’s Cornish Pastis is a modern (and English) version of the classic French anise spirit. It is distilled in Cornwall in small copper pot stills, with a carefully selected blend of 13 different botanicals, including licorice root, star anise, green cardamom, orange peel and thorn leaf. 12 of these botanicals are macerated in neutral wheat spirit overnight, while the 13th, thorn leaf, is added just before distillation. Afterwards, extra licorice root and orange peel are added and the bottles are sealed with wax.

Color: Crystal clear (until water is added).
Scent: Beautiful scent of licorice, fennel and orange peel.
Tasting notes: Big and rich in taste, with herbal notes of cardamom and fennel, citrus and star anise.

Serving suggestion: Try it in a Pastis Mauresque:

5 cl Tarquin’s Cornish Pastis
1.5 cl Orgeat
0.5 cl lemon juice

Shake and serve in a lowball glass with ice and a twist of orange peel.
