Gran Duque de Alba Oro is an exclusive Brandy de Jerez Solera Gran Reserva Especial from Williams & Humbertin Jerez de la Frontera. The producer was founded in 1877 and is one of the classic names in the region, with a long tradition in both sherry and brandy production.
The brandy is made from distillates of the Palomino and Airén grape varieties and has been aged for 25 years in American oak casks that previously held Palo Cortado. It is precisely this long ageing and the casks’ sherry background that give Gran Duque de Alba Oro its deep, mature, and concentrated style.
In the glass, it shows a dark colour with shades of deep mahogany and ebony. The nose is intense and mature, with notes of vanilla and forest floor, clearly shaped by the extended cask ageing. The palate is luxuriously complex, with a texture that feels both succulent, creamy, and velvety through the finish. The overall impression is rich, warm, and beautifully rounded, with notable depth and maturity.
This is a brandy best enjoyed neat, preferably in a tulip-shaped glass at room temperature, allowing it to open slowly and benefit from a little warmth in the hand.
