TuTumba Brut Nature 2022 is an elegant and authentic Cava from Terra de Falanis, created with a focus on purity and terroir. The wine is made from the classic grapes Xarel·lo, Macabeo, and Parellada, with Xarel·lo sourced from old vines in Penedès, while Macabeo and Parellada are grown in Conca de Barberà at an altitude of 600 metres. This combination provides both freshness and complexity. The nose offers white flowers and delicate notes of dried fruit, while the palate is precise and mineral-driven, with lively acidity and a lightly salty finish that reflects its Mediterranean character. The fine, persistent mousse highlights the wine’s refined nature.
Each grape variety is vinified separately at low temperature with minimal use of sulphur. After blending, the wine undergoes a second fermentation in bottle according to the traditional method (the Champagne method) and is aged sur lie for a minimum of 22 months. This extended bottle ageing brings complexity, finesse, and a creamy texture, balanced by freshness and precision.

About Terra de Falanis
If you are not familiar with Terra de Falanis, you are likely to remember them for their wild labels alone. But the wine inside the bottle is certainly serious. Terra de Falanis is an area in Mallorca where the world-renowned winery Anima Negra is located. The team behind Anima Negra is also behind this project, in which they have brought together a number of small winegrowers in Catalonia and Mallorca to cultivate the grapes for these wines, with the ambition of creating wines that are just as unique and true to their origin as those Anima Negra produces on Mallorca.
The magic happens at the old manor house Son Burguera, close to the town of Felanitx, where the buildings date back to the 13th century. As with Anima Negra’s own wines, such as AN/2, only the finest fruit is used in production. After vinification, the wines are aged in a combination of used barrels and steel, allowing the wine’s natural terroir to truly come forward.
Soil, climate, and plants
The name of the winery, Terra de Falanis, was the name historian Miquel Barceló used for the town and its people before Felanitx existed in its current form. As a name that returned to the roots, it was only fitting to adopt the old name. The project is based on three very simple pillars: soil, climate, and plants. And while this may sound obvious in itself, for the people behind the winery it is all about the art of knowing how and when to apply the winemaking process in harmony with these three pillars. When this succeeds, harmony between man and nature emerges – and with it, the wine.
The labels are a story of their own
The labels are a story in themselves. They were created by the talented comic artist, and close friend of the winery, Pere Joan. Through his drawings, he has succeeded in conveying a message of sincerity, quality, honesty, and reliability.
“When the inside of the bottle is taken so seriously, there is no need for an elaborate image to decorate the outside,” Pere Joan has explained. The playful expression is simply used to show that when you are serious enough on the inside, you can have more fun on the outside. Furthermore, the use of onomatopoeic expressions such as “MUAC!”, “Plic plic plic”, and “bla bla bla” helps simplify the way people think about the wines, so they can simply relax and enjoy them.
