Elysis Cabernet d’Anjou 2024 75 cl.

Les Celliers du Prieuré – Loire France

You can’t help but enjoy straightforward, life-loving people—and envy their spirit a little. That’s exactly what Elysis Cabernet d’Anjou is like: effortlessly delicious, mouth-watering, and wonderfully down to earth. Its gentle sweetness and fresh acidity give it broad appeal without slipping into the lowest common denominator.

The wine is made just south of Angers, where the Loire River lazily makes its way toward the Atlantic. Cabernet Franc is the main grape here, with a small proportion of Cabernet Sauvignon in the blend. When you buy Cabernet d’Anjou, you can expect a touch of residual sweetness, and this bottling sits at just over 30 g/litre—balanced by the right level of acidity for a beautifully harmonious experience.

Behind the delicate salmon-pink colour lies a relatively full-bodied, intense rosé with aromas of raspberries, strawberries, Galia melon, tangy sweets, and a hint of lemon verbena.

Beyond being the obvious choice for sunny days, it’s also great with melon and dry-cured ham, chilli crab, teriyaki-marinated salmon, or a spicy Asian dish with vegetables—equally enjoyable with fish, shellfish, or chicken.

Best enjoyed well chilled straight from the fridge, an ice bucket, or a cooler bag.
