Springbank 12 Years Cask Strength 2025 55.5% is the latest edition of Springbank’s cult 12-year-old, a powerful Campbeltown single malt bottled at natural cask strength with no chill-filtration and no added colour. This year’s release has been matured exclusively in bourbon casks, putting the spotlight firmly on the character of the spirit itself: oily texture, gentle peat smoke and clean, bright fruit.

On the nose it is sweet and inviting, with notes reminiscent of fruit sweets, raspberry ice cream, dried mango, sugary frosting and a touch of dark chocolate. The palate builds complexity quickly: smoky chilli heat, a hint of cayenne, toffee and caramelised sugars, alongside an almost grilled, savoury edge carried by Springbank’s signature oily mouthfeel. The finish is long and energetic, with soft peat smoke, pink grapefruit, cocoa, glazed cherries and an appealing salty note that calls to mind pretzels and sea air.
