Powerful and full-bodied
Diamond Hill Shiraz Merlot has a deep, dark red colour with violet reflections and an intense aroma of ripe fruit. On the palate the wine is powerful, with spicy richness and ripe tannins from the Shiraz grape, combined with soft warmth and roundness from the Merlot.
The wine is an excellent companion to red meat, spicy dishes, lamb, veal and cheese.
Serving temperature: 16–18 °C
Production
The grapes ripen under clear sunshine and by the time they are harvested in February they are fully ripe. After picking in the early morning, the still-cool bunches are taken for destemming and pressing. Fermentation takes place at a low, controlled temperature to preserve the grapes’ fruit intensity in the finished wine.
CO₂ – environmentally friendly
Transporting wine in bulk from the country of origin to be bottled in Denmark results in a significantly lower CO₂ impact compared with importing wine already bottled. In recognition of this reduced carbon footprint – as well as the quality benefits and economic advantages – bulk wine makes up an ever-increasing part of our business.
About the producer
Since the turn of the millennium, Diamond Hill has been a reliable name for quality wine. The people behind Diamond Hill wanted to show that Australia can offer far more than just Shiraz – in fact, the vast continent can field over 70 different grape varieties. Diamond Hill chose to focus on South Eastern Australia and has concentrated on five carefully selected wines from some of the finest vineyards in the area.
With two red wines, two white wines and one rosé, Diamond Hill showcases the very essence and diversity of wines from South Eastern Australia. Each of their wines is a small precious gem, symbolised by the distinctive diamond-shaped logo. Over the years, Diamond Hill has received numerous accolades for its wines.
