About the product
El Tequileño Blanco has long been a favourite among the residents of the town of Tequila and the surrounding areas. This historic tequila is the main ingredient in the La Batanga cocktail, which was created by Don Javier from the world-famous La Capilla Cantina.
El Tequileño Blanco is a so-called blanco tequila, meaning it is either unaged or only aged for a very short period of time. Blanco tequilas are usually very clean in flavour and strongly shaped by the natural taste of the agave. El Tequileño Blanco works particularly well in cocktails.
El Tequileño Blanco is bottled at 40% ABV.
Tasting notes
A sweet, delicious tequila with the flavour of cooked agave. Extremely well suited to cocktails.
About El Tequileño
Tequileño is one of the most highly respected and popular premium tequila brands in the world – and with good reason. The distillery was founded in 1959 by Don Jorge Salles Cuervo in the town of Tequila, Mexico. It took its name from the town – a name that is far from random. The town of Tequila is where the agave-based spirit was first distilled, and it is also where the drink gets its name.
Beyond this historical heritage, Tequileño is also special in that it is one of the very few tequila distilleries that release their tequila under their own name. Normally in the tequila industry, distilleries sell their spirit to independent bottlers, who then market it under their own brands. Tequileño handles the entire process itself – from planting and harvesting the blue agave, to blending and bottling the final tequila.
Today, Tequileño releases a range of different tequilas. Under the 1959 premium line you will find classics such as blanco, reposado, cristalino and añejo; and for those who want a more budget-friendly, cocktail-focused option there is a blanco and a reposado.
