Yamazaki Mizunara Aged 18 Years 100th Anniversary 70 cl. 48%

This Yamazaki Mizunara Single Malt consists of carefully selected malt whiskeys, all of which have been aged exclusively in Mizunara casks for a minimum of 18 years.

It was created to honor the centenary of the House of Suntory. At the first tasting, it was noted that the young liquid in the Mizunara cask had a dominant flavor and aroma. While aging through the four distinctive seasons of Japan and the land of Yamazaki, the determined blenders of the past found a balance between aging and harmonious blending that tempered the force of the Mizunara character.

The whiskeys are now matured until they can acquire the characteristic Japanese spiciness and the incense-like aroma of sandalwood and agarwood.

Tasting Notes:

Colour: Reddish amber

Nose: Rich and elegant top notes of dark cherry and ripe peach, with hints of cinnamon and nutmeg

Palate: Subtle spiciness with undertones of Japanese incense

Finish: Long and lingering, accented with clove, sandalwood and hints of dried coconut
