Walsh Whiskey Distillery first opened its doors back in 1999. Created by Bernard and Rosemary Walsh, this family business is dedicated to reviving Ireland’s old whiskey traditions—and they’ve certainly succeeded. Cask Strength
An exceptional marriage of Single Pot Still and Single Malt Irish whiskey. Founder and Master Distiller Bernard Walsh selects a handful of casks each year to create this super-premium cask-strength whiskey. Triple distilled, non-chill filtered, matured in ex-bourbon casks, and bottled at 54.5%.
Nose: Ginger, pepper, butterscotch Palate: Toasted oak, biscuit, dark chocolate, sweet vanilla Finish: Exceptional, full of character and flavour
Copper Pot
Writers’ Tears Copper Pot is a unique marriage of aged Single Pot Still and Single Malt Irish whiskey. Distilled exclusively from barley (both malted and unmalted), which unmistakably marks it out as a true Irish original. Triple distilled, unpeated, and matured in flame-charred ex-bourbon casks. 40% ABV.
Nose: Apples, vanilla Palate: Light spice, ginger, orchard fruit Finish: Long and elegant, dark chocolate
Double Oak
Writers’ Tears Double Oak is an exclusive Irish whiskey born from two cask types and two styles of premium Irish whiskey. A blend of Single Pot Still and Single Malt, aged in Kentucky ex-bourbon barrels and French Cognac casks. Triple distilled, non-chill filtered, bottled at 46%. A joint creation by the Walsh family (Ireland) and the Legaret family (Cognac, France).
The French cognac casks previously held Deau XO Cognac, a product also imported by Mac Y.
