This fantastic 18-year-old edition was added to the range in 2014. Matured in a combination of ex-bourbon and port casks, a pairing that delivers the aroma of breakfast in a glass!
Tomatin Distillery – A Highland distillery that, back in the 1970s, was Scotland’s largest, with a total of 23 stills in operation. Their motto was “Largest!” In 1984, a struggling Tomatin was purchased by Japanese investors, who embarked on a transformation mission: from “Largest” to “Best!”
Today, Tomatin releases a wide range of whiskies, selling in over 50 international markets – the mission from largest to best is well on its way to success!
Aroma
Filled with strawberry jam, honey-glazed ham, honeydew melon, and freshly squeezed orange juice. At the same time, notes of wood, antique furniture, burnt rubber, rum, orange peel, and tobacco can be detected.
Taste
Sweet with buttery undertones, candy floss, red fruits, eucalyptus, mint, and coconut, with a pleasant smoky twist.
Finish
Slightly dry, rich, full-bodied, and complex, with a warming sweetness, plenty of malt, and dark chocolate.
Comment
There is a softer side of “The Highlands” – and that is Tomatin!
