Teeling 24 Years is an exclusive Irish single malt from Teeling’s Vintage Reserve range – one of the distillery’s most sought-after releases. Distilled in the early 1990s, this whisky has spent over two decades in a combination of ex-bourbon casks and sweet wine casks, resulting in a deep, complex and distinctly fruit-driven style. It is bottled at high strength (typically around 46–50% ABV), without chill-filtration, giving a pure and concentrated expression of both cask and spirit.
Teeling 24 Years is regarded as one of the most awarded Irish single malts in recent times and has helped cement Teeling’s reputation as a modern quality distillery.
Flavour profile (indicative)
Appearance: Deep gold to amber with pronounced legs in the glass.
Nose: Plenty of ripe tropical fruits (mango, pineapple, papaya), citrus, peach and apricot. Sweet notes of honey, vanilla, light grapes, floral hints, gently spicy oak and a touch of almond and fruit candies.
Palate: Full-bodied, silky and creamy. Layers of tropical fruit, white grapes, citrus, vanilla, honey, malt, a light nuttiness and fine notes of oak, spice and mild pepper. The sweet wine casks add an elegant, vinous character without making the whisky heavy.
Finish: Long and refined, with lingering fruit sweetness, honey, vanilla, grape skin, gentle oak and a light dryness that balances the sweetness.
Character and style Teeling 24 Years showcases the sophisticated side of Irish single malt:
Clearly fruit-driven and elegant rather than big and heavy
Great complexity from long ageing and the use of both bourbon and wine casks
A contemplative sipping whisky rather than an everyday dram
Serving suggestions
Best enjoyed neat in a tulip-shaped glass.
A few drops of cool water can reveal even more tropical and vinous notes.
Pairs beautifully with mature hard cheeses, nuts, light chocolate or fruit-based desserts, or simply on its own as a dram for special occasions.
