Springbank Local Barley 2025 10 Years 70 cl. 55,2%

Campbeltown Limited Single Malt Scotch Whisky

Springbank Local Barley 2025 55.2% is a highly sought-after Campbeltown release, produced from barley grown on farms in the countryside around the distillery. The entire process – from floor malting to bottling – takes place at Springbank, giving a remarkably clear expression of grain, place and traditional craftsmanship. Bottled at natural cask strength, 55.2%, it is both powerful and finely detailed, especially when given a splash of water.

On the nose, expect freshly milled barley, sweet malt and honey alongside bright orchard fruits such as apple and pear, citrus zest, vanilla cream, biscuits, gentle herbs and a delicate maritime salinity. The palate is oily and full-bodied, showing layers of cereal, malt biscuits, lemon peel, yellow fruits, honeyed malt and spicy oak, followed by a subtle thread of smoke and softly earthy peat. The finish is long, malty and lightly salty, with lingering notes of pale fruit, dry herbs, oak spice and a faint but persistent wisp of smoke.

About the producer – Springbank
Springbank is one of Scotland’s most revered independent distilleries, located in the coastal town of Campbeltown. Still owned by the Mitchell family, it is famous for doing almost everything the traditional way: in-house floor malting, slow and characterful distillations, maturation in old-style dunnage warehouses and bottling on site. The house style is deliberately old-fashioned and complex, combining robust malt character, gentle peat smoke and a distinctly maritime edge. The Local Barley series is Springbank’s tribute to local agriculture and to Campbeltown itself, showcasing the flavour of barley grown in the surrounding fields as transparently as possible.
