Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky

Smokehead is a series of Single Malt whiskeies from Islay. As the name suggests, there is full power on smoke and peat – almost enough to put the smoke alarm in the bedroom, even if you pour the whiskey into the living room! The debate is still raging over which distillery that supplies the whiskey to the Smokehead bottles. If you find out, please send us an email!

Color: Golden.
Fragrance: Powerful burner ladder rises by the glass. Lots of peat, spices and spicy ginger.
Taste: Salt, seaweed and peat – it does not hide on to be of Islay etch. Later, pepper, honey, ginger and Mandarin.

In addition to owning the distillery Glengoyne and Tamdhu as well as Edinburgh Gin, Ian Macleod also has long served as one of the most respected independent decants, with series such as Chieftain’s, Dun Bheagan, AS WE GET IT and Smokehead. For 80 years, Ian Macleod has weighted quality over quantity, and even appointed the best producers to work with, which has resulted in the enviable portfolio of whiskey, Gin and Rome brands, they have today.

In the autumn of 2017, whiskey nerds worldwide in the hands, when Ian Macleod announced that they were planning to reopen the pagan (and very missed) Lowland distillery, Rosebank.
