Rémy Martin Tercet is a modern, fruit-forward Cognac in the house’s classic Fine Champagne style (eaux-de-vie from Grande Champagne and Petite Champagne). It’s designed to showcase a brighter, more aromatic side of Cognac—clearly driven by freshness and fruit—while still delivering a surprisingly long, spicy finish that reminds you it’s serious, barrel-aged spirit.
The name Tercet refers to a “three-part harmony,” highlighting the interplay of key craft elements—grape selection, distillation, and ageing—working together to shape the final style. The result feels both unmistakably Rémy (elegant and balanced) and more direct, lively, and fruit-led than many traditional Cognacs in the same category.
Nose
The nose opens with distinct tropical fruit—think mango, pineapple, and lychee—alongside a hint of dried fruit. Beneath the fruit are soft spice notes reminiscent of cinnamon and ginger, plus a subtle liquorice nuance that adds depth.
Palate
On the palate, Tercet is rounded and silky, yet fresh and vibrant in expression. The tropical fruit core is followed by gentle spice and fruit tones leaning toward stone fruit (yellow plum/apricot). It’s approachable without being simplistic: fruit leads, while spice and oak provide structure.
Finish
The finish is surprisingly long for such a fruit-driven style. The fruit fades slowly, leaving a warm, soft spiced impression. Many also notice a light, nutty note toward the end, reminiscent of toasted almond.
Serving
Tercet is excellent neat, but it also works very well over ice when you want a fresher, more aperitif-like serve. It pairs beautifully with fruit elements—such as fresh pineapple or fruit sorbet—where its tropical profile really shines.
