Summer Reds is a six-bottle case made for summer dinners, long evenings, and food that deserves plenty of space on the table. Here you will find juicy pinot fruit, fresh nebbiolo structure, soft merlot, spicy pinotage, generous ripasso, and dark Californian cabernet — a line-up that makes it easy to find the right bottle for everything from grilled dishes and pasta to charcuterie, cheese, and evenings on the terrace. The lighter wines in the case, especially Les Mougeottes Pinot Noir, can very happily be served slightly chilled in summer to bring out freshness, berry fruit, and easy drinkability.
A soft and generous Merlot with plums, cherries, balsamic notes, caramel, clove, and a rounded touch of vanilla and chocolate. It pairs especially well with grilled chicken thighs, pasta with mushrooms or tomato-based meat sauce, oven-roasted vegetables, and aged cheeses. The wine is fermented in tank and then aged for seven months in French and American oak barrels, adding extra depth while preserving its soft and approachable style.
A charming and approachable Pinot Noir with black cherries, raspberries, juicy red berry fruit, and a silky finish. It is perfect with duck breast, cold cuts, pasta, bacon dishes, and mild cheeses, and it is also one of the best wines in the case to serve slightly chilled when the sun is out. The grapes come from sunny coastal vineyards in Languedoc, sourced from growers under LGI’s direction, and the wine gains a subtle oak touch through the use of oak staves in stainless steel before bottling.
A youthful and fresh Nebbiolo with fine notes of violet, red fruit, and a classic lightly firm structure that brings energy to the glass. It pairs very well with veal, salami, prosciutto, grilled chicken, mushroom dishes, and firm cheeses, and it can also take a light chill if you want to highlight its fresh fruit even more. The wine is made from Nebbiolo grown in Neive, fermented traditionally under temperature control, and then given a short ageing period in large casks, preserving both freshness and a clear sense of origin.
A flavourful, fuller-bodied wine with dried cherries, plums, dark fruit, discreet sweetness, and soft tannins. It is at its best with grilled ribs, entrecôte, lasagne, mushroom risotto, and aged cheeses, where its roundness and depth really come into their own. The wine is made from Corvina, Corvinone, Rondinella, and Molinara. A base wine is first vinified, then in March refermented on the skins from Amarone Pegrandi, before ageing for twelve months in medium-sized oak casks and a further four months in bottle.
A dark-fruited and spicy Pinotage with ripe plum fruit, dark cherries, blackcurrants, warm spice, and a soft touch of caramel and vanilla from oak. It is an excellent match for grilled entrecôte, lamb racks, spicy sausages, grilled aubergine, and aged cheeses. The fruit comes from Swartland and Darling, with concentration from dry vineyard sites and added freshness from cooler influences. Fermentation takes place in open concrete fermenters with manual punch-downs, followed by malolactic fermentation and ageing in American oak.
A full-bodied and generous Cabernet Sauvignon with blackberries, blackcurrants, dark cherries, vanilla, toast, and warm spices in a soft yet powerful style. It works beautifully with burgers, grilled short ribs, flank steak, barbecue glaze, cheddar, and other richly flavoured dishes. The wine is made in California in a warm, fruit-driven style with clear oak character, giving it ripe fruit, a rounded structure, and a vanilla-spiced finish.
