Single Malt Scotch Whisky
This Oban, affectionately nicknamed Coastal Orchard, is a 10-year-old whisky aged in refill American oak with a partial finish in “fresh charred Oloroso-seasoned” casks. Seasoning is a process in which the cask is saturated with wine, in this case, oloroso sherry, a deep, dark, and nutty wine from Andalusia. The whisky is bottled at a respectful 58% alcohol.
Color: Amber.
Aroma: Fresh and maritime scent, which quickly shows signs of the sherry cask with notes of light dried fruit and vanilla.
Taste notes: Creamy, oily whisky with a rounded, sweet, and citrusy profile. There’s also a tiny hint of smoke. Very delicious!
