Malfy Gin Originale is the house’s pure, dry expression: a classic, juniper-led gin distilled at Torino Distillati in Moncalieri near Turin. Freshness and precision are prioritized in small batches to preserve the delicate botanical aromas. The nose opens crisp with juniper and a hint of pine, followed by coriander, bright herbs, and a subtle warmth from roots and bark. The palate is dry and clear with a clean juniper core, a lightly peppery citrus lift, and a balanced, cool finish. The texture is supple and clean, and the aftertaste lingers long and precise without sweetness.
The gin is made from neutral base spirit infused with classic botanicals—primarily juniper and coriander, supported by angelica root and cassia—and gently distilled for a razor-sharp profile. After distillation, the strength is adjusted with spring water from Piedmont to 41% ABV, giving an elegant, easy-drinking structure.
The producer, Torino Distillati, is a family-owned distillery led by the Vergnano family. Moncalieri is a historic hub for vermouth, amari, and distillates, and that tradition of precision and raw-material quality is reflected in the Malfy range. While several Malfy variants celebrate Italian citrus, Originale stands as the classic anchor: a gin with clear identity that works equally well neat, in a crisp G&T with a citrus twist, or as a lean base in a Dry Martini and other timeless cocktails.
