Italian Everyday Favorites is a selection for anyone looking for six white wines that feel generous, versatile, and genuinely Italian. Here, different grapes and expressions from several parts of the country come together — from fresh, herbaceous grechetto to saline greco di tufo, aromatic malvasia, classic trebbiano, elegant arneis, and a more Mediterranean Tuscan blend. It is a package that works just as well for simple weekday dinners as for weekend lunches, antipasti, and long evenings where the food is meant to take center stage.
Plani Arche – Grechetto
A characterful and food-friendly white wine with notes of pear, peach, lemon, and a lightly spicy, almost saline minerality. The palate is denser and more structured than many simpler everyday wines, while still keeping a fine freshness and a long finish that makes it highly versatile with grilled fish, seafood, chicken, risotto, mushrooms, and rustic vegetable dishes. The wine is made from 100 percent grechetto in Umbria from calcareous clay soils, where the grapes are gently whole-bunch pressed, fermented for around 20 days at low temperature, and then go through malolactic fermentation before spending six months on the lees to gain extra depth and texture.
Charisma Trebbiano d’Abruzzo
A fresh yet full white wine with citrus, yellow fruit, light spice, and a fine touch of salinity in the finish. It feels immediately approachable, but has more structure than many expect from trebbiano, making it a very good match for pasta with vegetables, fish, seafood, chicken in light sauces, and mild goat’s or sheep’s cheeses. Charisma is made from 100 percent Trebbiano d’Abruzzo grown in biodynamic vineyards at around 440 meters above sea level, where the cooler site provides a longer ripening period and helps the wine retain its fresh, aromatic style.
Bruna Grimaldi Langhe Arneis
An elegant and charming arneis with aromas of white flowers, pear, citrus, and pale tropical notes, followed by a soft, creamy, and finely saline palate. It is a wine that feels both approachable and nuanced, and pairs beautifully with an aperitif, light starters, fish, seafood, salads, vegetarian dishes, and mild cheeses. The grapes are hand-harvested in early September from clay and limestone soils in Langhe, gently pressed, and fermented at low temperature in stainless steel. No malolactic fermentation is carried out, and the wine then rests on the lees with bâtonnage for a couple of months to build softness and complexity.
Torricino Raone Greco Di Tufo Riserva
A more serious and mineral-driven wine with citrus, pear, peach, herbs, and a distinct stony salinity that gives both energy and length. The palate is concentrated, fresh, and taut at the same time, making it especially well suited to grilled fish, richly flavored seafood dishes, rustic soups, aged cheeses, and other dishes where the wine can show both power and precision. It is made from 100 percent greco di tufo from Vignale in Tufo, above old sulfur mines, where calcareous and clay soils with mineral-rich elements leave a clear mark on the wine. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel with indigenous yeasts, followed by six months on the lees and additional bottle ageing before release.
FANTI Sant’Antimo Soralisa
An inviting and harmonious white wine with notes of white flowers, acacia, chamomile, white peach, and citrus, with a fresh and lightly mineral palate that still has a certain roundness. It works very well as an aperitif, but also with starters, simple pasta dishes, seafood, white meats, veal, and mild creamy cheeses. Soralisa is a Tuscan blend in which Trebbiano Toscano and Malvasia Toscana meet Vermentino and Viognier. The grapes are hand-harvested in mid-September, lightly pressed, and fermented in large stainless steel tanks at controlled temperature before the wine rests for about three more months in tank prior to bottling.
Schola Sarmenti – Mesia Malvasia Bianco
A soft and aromatic wine with notes of ripe pear fruit, honey, and a lightly spicy finish. The palate is full, balanced, and harmonious, making the wine easy to enjoy and very useful with fish dishes, lighter starters, and other simple Mediterranean-inspired dishes. The wine is made from 100 percent malvasia bianca in Salento, where the grapes are hand-harvested in ventilated crates to preserve quality and then vinified and aged in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks to retain the grape’s pure fruit and soft expression.
