Yellow Spot – Aged 12 Years Mitchell & Son 70 cl. 46%

Single Pot Still Irish Whiskey

Yellow Spot is a distinguished Single Pot Still Irish Whiskey that captures the essence of traditional Irish craftsmanship. Matured for a full 12 years, it offers depth, elegance, and a rich complexity that sets it apart.

Revived by Mitchell & Son and produced at the renowned Midleton Distillery, Yellow Spot is part of the historic “Spot Whiskey” family. In the 1800s, Mitchell’s used colored paint spots to mark the age of their whiskey barrels – yellow stood for 12 years. Today, that legacy lives on in every drop.

What makes Yellow Spot unique is its triple cask maturation – in American bourbon barrels, Spanish sherry butts, and sweet Malaga wine casks. This rare combination creates a whiskey with extraordinary balance between spice, fruit, and warmth.

Tasting Notes

Nose: Honeyed sweetness with ripe peach, apricot, toasted oak, and baking spices. Hints of green tea and dried fruit.
Palate: Creamy and full-bodied with notes of red apple, butterscotch, cinnamon, vanilla, and dark chocolate. The Malaga casks add exotic fruit and a delicate sweetness.
Finish: Long and warming with spice, soft tannins, and lingering fruity richness.
