New World Wine Finds is a selection for anyone who wants to discover just how much flavour, generosity, and value can be found in wine countries outside Europe’s classic wine regions. In the wine world, the term “New World” is used for countries such as South Africa, New Zealand, Chile, Argentina, and the United States — places where winemaking is often associated with expressive fruit, clean style, and broad appeal. Here you get six white wines that show exactly that: fresh sauvignon blancs, generous chardonnay, an aromatic blend, and cool-climate pinot gris, all selected to deliver plenty of character for the price.
Silverboom Sauvignon Blanc Special Reserve
A crisp and fruit-driven wine with notes of gooseberry, green apple, and citrus, supported by a light mineral tone and a long, clean finish. It works very well with salads, seafood, mild cheeses, and chicken or turkey, when you want a wine that feels both fresh and effortlessly enjoyable. The grapes come from selected sites in the Western Cape, are harvested in the cool morning hours, and fermented in temperature-controlled stainless steel to preserve freshness and acidity.
Frigate Cove Sauvignon Blanc
Here you get a clearly New Zealand style, with elderflower, citrus, gooseberry, green grapes, and exotic fruit in a lively and pure flavour profile. It is a highly versatile wine for fish, seafood, sushi, salads, goat cheese, and light vegetable dishes, but also works perfectly as a chilled glass on the terrace. The wine comes from Marlborough, where the cool climate and long sunshine hours create intense aromatics, and it is fermented in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks to preserve its fresh expression.
Errazuriz Estate – Reserva Chardonnay
A fresh yet generous chardonnay with notes of tropical fruit, citrus, ripe pear, and a hint of marzipan and toasted oak. It pairs beautifully with grilled fish, seafood with garlic, roast chicken, pasta with creamy sauces, and mild cheeses. The wine reflects the grape’s pure fruit character, while gaining extra depth from around six months of ageing in French oak, which adds breadth and texture without taking over.
Butcher’s Cut Premium Chardonnay-Torrontés
A charming Argentine white wine in which chardonnay brings roundness and tropical fruit, while torrontés adds freshness, green apple, and a lightly aromatic lift. It pairs well with salads, fish, chicken, turkey, mild cheeses, and as an aperitif when you want something fruity and easy to enjoy. The grapes are harvested in Mendoza, where large day-to-night temperature shifts help preserve freshness and fruit, and the wine is vinified according to traditional methods.
Dream BIG! – The Big Chardonnay
A soft and crowd-pleasing Californian chardonnay with fresh apple acidity, tropical notes of pineapple and mango, and an almost buttery creaminess with silky citrus tones. It is very easy to serve with grilled chicken, white meats, fish, and seafood, but also works well when you simply want a generous glass of wine without overthinking it. The wine is made from grapes sourced from selected vineyards in California and is crafted in a classic fruity, round, and approachable style that many associate with the New World.
Pike Road Pinot Gris
A cool and lively wine with notes of apple, lime, pear, nectarine, grapefruit, and a touch of ginger. It is especially well suited to fish, seafood, scallops, and white meats, where the wine’s freshness and fruit can play against clean flavours. The fruit is hand-harvested, gently pressed, and cold-fermented in small stainless steel tanks, and the producer works with grapes from both estate vineyards and several growers in Willamette Valley to build more complexity into the wine.
