Piedmont – Selected Favourites is a wine case for anyone who wants to discover why Piedmont is considered one of Italy’s most beloved wine regions. Here, silky Pinot Nero, juicy Barbera, nuanced Langhe Nebbiolo, and two classic expressions of Barolo come together in a selection that moves from charming and approachable to deep and age-worthy. These are wines with freshness, energy, and a clear sense of place – and even the more serious bottles benefit from being served with a light chill in the glass when the sun is shining, allowing fruit, acidity, and elegance to take centre stage.
An elegant and classic Nebbiolo with dark cherries, fine spice, and silky yet clearly defined tannins. The palate is dry, nuanced, and long, with that distinctive combination of structure and finesse that makes Barbaresco so appealing. It pairs especially well with roasted meat dishes, game, and aged cheeses. The grapes are 100 percent Nebbiolo from Serraboella in Neive, where the soils are made up of limestone and clay. The wine is fermented in large wooden vats with long skin contact and then aged in large casks as well as in bottle, giving it both depth and classic elegance.
This is a generous yet fresh wine with clear Piedmont character. It offers plums, cherries, and dark berry fruit, but also fine minerality and bright acidity that make it both lively and highly food-friendly. It is an excellent match for roasts, boiled meats, pasta with ragù, and cheeses. The wine is made from Barbera grown in Neive, where the vines root in limestone and clay soils, and it is aged in both large and smaller casks to add depth and roundness without losing its energy.
A younger and more approachable Nebbiolo with floral notes, fresh red fruit, and a lively, energetic style. The palate is youthful and fresh with fine structure, making it very versatile at the table. It pairs particularly well with white meat, charcuterie, salami, and milder cheeses. The grapes come from younger Nebbiolo vines in Neive and are vinified in temperature-controlled stainless steel, before the wine is allowed to rest further in cask and bottle to develop softness and character.
This is a more structured and refined wine with classic Barolo character. The nose leans toward dried roses, violet, and ripe fruit, while the palate is dry, elegant, and velvety with fine structure and excellent ageing potential. It is especially well suited to braised meat, hearty meat dishes, boeuf bourguignon, and aged cheeses. The wine comes from the single vineyard Bricco Ambrogio in Roddi d’Alba, is made from 100 percent Nebbiolo, and is vinified with long skin contact under temperature control. It is then aged for an extended period in large French oak casks and partly in tonneaux, followed by bottle ageing before release.
A very elegant and fine-boned Pinot Nero with pure fruit, red cherries, blueberries, and a light mineral note. On the palate it is medium-bodied, juicy, and precise, with fresh acidity, fine tannins, and a long, clean finish. It pairs beautifully with poultry, mushroom dishes, veal, and lighter meat dishes, and it is the wine in the case most naturally suited to being served lightly chilled in the sunshine. The grapes come from high-altitude vineyards, are harvested with careful selection, fermented in stainless steel, and gently aged in steel to preserve freshness, elegance, and aromatic purity.
Albe is a Barolo that combines classic Nebbiolo character with unusually accessible elegance. The nose offers rose petals, candied cherries, cedar, juniper, wild flowers, and blood orange, while the palate combines red fruit, silky texture, and refined tannins in a long, mineral finish. It pairs very well with truffle pasta, mushroom dishes, slow-cooked meals, veal, and aged cheeses. The wine is made from 100 percent Nebbiolo sourced from several high-altitude Barolo sites, with manual sorting, long maceration, and extended ageing in large Slavonian oak casks, giving the wine structure, depth, and classic Barolo character.
