Double Gold at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition 2020
Pasador de Oro Gran Reserva is Guatemala rum at its very best! After distillation, the rum is aged for many years in American white oak casks, and from there acquires the characteristic notes of vanilla and butterscotch. The best casks are selected for a final aging – short but crucial – in French cognac casks, where it develops further complexity and spicy notes of cloves and cedar wood, which just give the sweet rum a touch of French sophistication.
Colour: Deep amber gold.
Aroma: Big and warm aroma of melted butter, caramel, chocolate, raisin, cedar and cloves.
Tasting notes: On the tongue, the rum is full, soft and round. There is good sweetness, but not overpowering. You sense baking spices (cardamom, cinnamon, vanilla), hints of tropical fruit and a long finish with a touch of coffee.
Serving suggestions: Should be enjoyed neat, possibly as avec after a good meal.
