Dictador Episodio I 1998 Sherry is an exclusive vintage rum from Colombia, created by Destilería Colombiana and master blender Hernan Parra. Distilled from molasses in 1998, this rum has spent many years maturing – first in American oak barrels and then in carefully selected sherry casks, which add deep, wine-like sweetness and great complexity. The bottling is part of the limited Episodio I series, where each batch is chosen to showcase a distinctive cask character.
Style and character Episodio I 1998 Sherry is a dark, amber-coloured rum with a layered, mature profile. The influence of the sherry casks comes through in notes of dried fruits, nuts and spice, while the Colombian rum base adds sweetness, warmth and a hint of tropical fruit.

Appearance: Deep amber to dark mahogany, with thick legs in the glass indicating high viscosity and long ageing.
Nose: Complex aromas of dried fruits such as raisins and prunes, honey, roasted nuts, a touch of coconut and pineapple. In the background you find dark chocolate, caramelised sugar, coffee and warm spices, along with a subtle hint of tobacco.
Palate: Full-bodied and elegant, with sweet sherry, toffee and dark fruits up front – plums, red berries and candied citrus. The mid-palate offers nuts, cocoa, coffee and well-integrated oak, with a gently spicy warmth and bready nuances.
Finish: Long, warm and velvety, with lingering sherry sweetness, red fruits, liquorice, cocoa, toasted wood and a delicate tobacco note.
