Bepi Tosolini – MOST Acquavite ex Amarone Barrique 70 cl. 40%
Handcrafted Premium Italian Acquavite/Grappa – Udine
Bepi Tosolini – MOST Acquavite ex Amarone Barrique is a deep, wine-inspired, cask-matured grape-must spirit (MOST) shaped by barrique casks that previously held Amarone. It creates a compelling meeting point between the distillate’s clean fruit-driven core and Amarone’s signature world of dark fruit, dried berries, spice and a warm, velvety richness. The profile remains dry and elegant on the finish—yet with a distinct “Valpolicella glow” in aroma and texture, made for slow sipping.
What does MOST mean?
While grappa is distilled from grape pomace (skins and pressings), acquavite di MOST is distilled from fermented grape must/juice. This often produces a purer, more “wine-like” fruit expression with a smoother, more polished mouthfeel. MOST can feel closer to a refined grape eau-de-vie—yet with a distinctly Italian signature. When paired with cask ageing, it gains impressive layers of complexity.
Ex Amarone – what the cask adds
Amarone is known for its concentrated style, often showing dried cherry, plum, raisin, cocoa, warming spices, and sometimes a touch of tobacco/leather. Ageing a distillate in ex-Amarone barriques doesn’t make it “sweet wine”—but it can bring:
a darker, dried-fruit aromatic profile
a warm, rounded, almost velvety texture
spice and a gentle chocolate/cocoa depth
and a wine-like complexity that suits a dry spirit beautifully
That makes it a great pick for Amarone lovers and spirits enthusiasts looking for depth and character.
Nose
Rich, dark and elegant:
dried cherry, plum and raisin
cocoa, dark chocolate and a lightly toasted nuance
warm spices like cinnamon, clove and a touch of pepper
a discreet hint of tobacco/leather in the background
still anchored by a clean grape core from the MOST distillate
Palate
Dry, yet rounded and full with wine-like depth:
it opens with clean fruity warmth and a soft texture
mid-palate builds layers of dark fruit, spice and toasted oak
the ex-Amarone cask adds a dried-fruit “glow” and a near dessert-wine aromatic impression—without turning sweet
the finish is long and elegantly dry, with gentle cask spice and a cocoa-like echo
Finish
Long, lingering and harmonious: dark fruit and spice gradually shift into drier, toasted oak tones, with a discreet cocoa note that stays on the palate.
Serving
Best enjoyed neat at room temperature in a tulip-shaped glass.
Give it 2–3 minutes in the glass to let the wine-like and spiced layers open up.
A single drop of water can lift the fruity top notes and add extra aromatic brightness.
Food & moments
Perfect after dinner, especially following red meat, slow-cooked dishes, mushrooms/umami, or lightly smoky flavours.
Fantastic with dark chocolate, truffles, toasted nuts, or cocoa-and-spice desserts.
Very interesting with aged hard cheeses (Parmesan-style) or blue cheese if you enjoy sweet/salty aromatic contrast.
