Adelphi’s Speyside 10 Years is a 10-year-old Speyside single malt that Adelphi has built around the distillery Glen Elgin—often appreciated for its gentle, fruity, “classic” Speyside profile. This release is bottled in 2025 at 46% ABV, with natural colour and without chill filtration, giving both more texture and a more defined aroma than lighter, filtered standard bottlings.
The maturation is a vatting of whisky drawn from a combination of refill sherry casks and bourbon casks. It’s a particularly rewarding mix for Speyside: bourbon casks contribute vanilla, bright sweetness and a creamy roundness, while the sherry casks add structure and a subtle deepening of the fruit—without making the whisky heavy or overly sweet.
On the nose you’ll often find orchard fruit (apple/pear), vanilla and a soft malty character, with a discreet note of sweet baking spice rounding everything out. The palate is clean and well-knit: fruit and light sweetness arrive first, then more depth appears in the form of gentle dried fruit and spice, before oak tightens the frame and adds a neat, mature grip. The finish is medium-long, carrying fruit and vanilla into a lightly drying close that keeps it balanced and easy to return to.
