The 2021 growing season was mild, with steady and cool daytime temperatures throughout. Supported by good rainfall during the winter and spring of 2020, the vineyard canopies thrived and developed well-formed grape clusters. As a result of the long flavour-development cycle, the 2021 wines show great aromatic intensity, deep colour nuances and outstanding balance.
Highly expressive, with flavours and aromas of plum, blackberry, compote, dark cocoa, vanilla and Maraschino liqueur. Complex, luxurious and dense. Soft yet compact tannins and a full, viscous texture. The finish lingers, and the wine’s cleansing acidity brings beautiful length and depth.
Aged for 24 months in a combination of new (40%) and older French oak barriques.
96 POINT Wine Spectator Offers a dense, powerful mix of violet, bittersweet chocolate and sandalwood-infused morello cherries in syrup. Blueberry, blackberry and date-nut bread flavors are plump on a frame of polished and toothsome tannins. Clove and Saigon cinnamon notes linger, with a powerful crescendo on the finish. Shiraz.
