The Glenallachie 1990 35 Years Cask Strength 70 cl. 50,2%

Speyside Single Malt Scotch Whisky

A MARVEL IN TIME

A whisky of extraordinary rarity and refinement, The GlenAllachie 1990 35-Year-Old is the result of decades of patient maturation and meticulous cask selection. For this remarkable release, Master Distiller Billy Walker drew from an exceptional inventory of casks, uniting four distinctive types: Mizunara virgin oak, American virgin oak, Oloroso Sherry, and Pedro Ximénez Sherry.

At the heart of this single malt lies the rare influence of Mizunara virgin oak — a prized Japanese oak sourced from trees up to 200 years old. Revered for its scarcity and complexity, Mizunara brings an unmistakable character to the whisky. Combined with three classic and time-honoured cask styles, it creates a beautifully layered expression where warm spice, opulent dried fruits, creamy vanilla, and rich molasses unfold in perfect harmony.

The result is a single malt of depth, elegance, and commanding presence — full-bodied, luxurious, and profoundly memorable.

THE CASKS

Mizunara Virgin Oak
Exceptionally rare and notoriously challenging to work with, Mizunara demands both patience and expertise. Its reward is a whisky of remarkable complexity, delivering exotic spice, depth, and distinctive character.

Pedro Ximénez Sherry
Lusciously rich and intensely sweet, Pedro Ximénez Sherry casks contribute velvety layers of figs, raisins, and dark molasses, adding weight and opulence to the spirit.

Oloroso Sherry
The darkest of the dry sherry styles, Oloroso casks are prized for their ability to impart rich nutty tones and concentrated dried fruit character, bringing structure and depth.

American Virgin Oak
A cornerstone of whisky maturation, American virgin oak casks are toasted and charred to unlock notes of vanilla, caramel, and coconut, lending warmth, sweetness, and balance.

PRESENTATION

Created to reflect the rarity and complexity of The GlenAllachie 35-Year-Old, the packaging is a tribute to craftsmanship, heritage, and innovation.

The wooden outer case takes inspiration from Mizunara virgin oak, the defining halo cask of this release, and incorporates Kumiko — the Japanese art of intricate wood joinery without nails. This elegant design detail symbolises patience, precision, and mastery. Four geometric motifs represent the four cask types that shaped the whisky, while the silhouette of the distillery’s gable end grounds the design firmly in GlenAllachie’s Speyside home.

Inside, the inner box honours the name GlenAllachie, meaning “Valley of the Rocks” in Scots Gaelic. Stone and slate textures evoke the rugged beauty of the Scottish landscape, creating a striking contrast to the warmth of the outer case.

At the centre sits a bold, broad-shouldered decanter, elegantly tapered to reveal the whisky’s deep mahogany hue. Free from labels, the design allows the spirit itself to take centre stage, while Billy Walker’s signature serves as a final mark of authenticity.
