Bunnahabhain Mòine Old 70 cl. 46,3%

Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky

unnahabhain Mòine is the distillery’s distinctly peated side—an Islay single malt that contrasts with Bunnahabhain’s more classic, often unpeated house style. Located on Islay’s north-eastern coast, Bunnahabhain is known for a softer, frequently nutty and maritime character. With Mòine (Gaelic for “peat”), they lean into a more peat-smoke driven profile, typically while keeping that signature coastal roundness and gentle salinity underneath.

The style is usually dry and coastal rather than sweet and heavy. On the nose you’ll often find peat smoke, sea breeze, and a bonfire note, alongside citrus, apple/pear, a nutty layer, and sometimes a light touch of vanilla from the cask. The palate is medium-bodied with smoke and mineral salinity, followed by pepper, malty sweetness, and a bright citrus edge that keeps it lively. The finish is long and warming, with lingering smoke, spice, and a subtle salty lift.

Serving

  • Try it neat first, then add a few drops of water to open the fruit and add nuance to the smoke.

  • A great choice when you want Islay peat with a bit more elegance and coastal softness than the most aggressively smoky styles.
