Edradour 12 Years 2013/2025 Batch #7 Oloroso-Sherry 70 cl. 59%
Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky
Edradour 12 Year Old Sherry Cask Strength Batch #7 is a bold, deeply sherried Highland single malt that delivers the distillery’s traditional, old-school character at full volume. Bottled at 59% ABV, it brings serious weight, an oily texture, and a highly concentrated flavour profile—while still rewarding a little time in the glass (and, if you like, a few drops of water).
Batch #7 is a small release, distilled in 2013 and bottled in 2025, drawn from 10 sister casks: a combination of first-fill and second-fill Oloroso sherry butts. That cask selection sets the tone immediately—dense dark fruit, cocoa, and warming spice, supported by an oak structure that adds grip rather than bitterness. On the nose you’ll often find dried fruits (raisins and figs), cocoa powder, and a faint hint of polished leather. The palate layers dried fruit, chocolate and nuts with a rich sherry warmth and a spicy oak edge, where a touch of coffee/espresso can add extra definition. The finish is long and rich, lingering with sherry glow, nutty tones, and soft tannins that settle into an elegant dryness.
This is a great pick for anyone who loves sherry-matured whisky with real depth and cask-strength presence. Try it neat first for full impact, then add a few drops of water to open up the fruit and bring more nuance to the spice.
About the producer: Edradour
Edradour is one of Scotland’s most distinctive distilleries—often described as among the country’s smallest traditional operations—dating back to 1825 in the Pitlochry area of Perthshire. Its style is typically dense, oily, and strongly cask-led, with a classic malty core. The distillery has been owned by Signatory Vintage since 2002, which also helps explain the strong small-batch character across many releases. Alongside Edradour, the distillery also produces Ballechin, its heavily peated range, made from malt with a phenol level of at least 50 ppm.
