Full-bodied and powerful – like a true mafia boss
Mafi-Rosso – Il Grande Vino has a deep, intense red colour and an expressive nose packed with seductive berry aromas. The bouquet alone could charm even the most cautious lamb into trusting a mafia boss – and that’s before you’ve even tasted it.
On the palate the wine is rich and inviting, with masses of juicy fruit and delicious spicy undertones, all elegantly wrapped in subtle notes from partial ageing in oak. A wine fit for any Don.

Winemaking
Mafi-Rosso Il Grande Vino Rosso d’Italia is made from grapes harvested in carefully selected wine regions across Italy, hence the designation “Migliore Selezione d’Italia”. The vines grow mainly in sandy and clay-rich soils, and the many hours of sunshine give wonderfully ripe grapes with plenty of power. The result is a wine with intense flavour, fine complexity and a relatively high alcohol level.
The grapes are gently harvested in the second half of October. The skins are then left in contact with the must for four days at 4 °C, after which fermentation takes place at a controlled temperature for 10–12 days. Part of the wine is matured for six months in oak, before the final blend is bottled and given one of the characteristic labels – one for each member of the Mafi-Rosso “family”.
