Ben Nevis 2014 8 Years 46% is a Highland single malt from the Ben Nevis distillery, bottled by Signatory Vintage. Distilled in 2014 and matured for around 8 years in second fill Oloroso sherry butts, it offers a rich, fruit-driven style with clear sherry influence and classic Ben Nevis character. Bottled at 46% ABV, non-chill filtered and with natural colour, it gives a honest expression of both cask and spirit.
Flavour profile (indicative)
Nose: Caramel, raisins, red berries and cherries, with stewed fruits, a touch of orange peel and lightly toasted nuts.
Palate: Sweet and gently spicy with notes of cherries, red fruits, caramel and dark toffee. It has a “sherry cake” feel with dried fruits and soft oak.
Finish: Fairly long and warming, with lingering sweetness, red berries, spice, a hint of nuttiness and dry oak.
A lively, youthful Ben Nevis where the Oloroso casks bring plenty of fruit and sherry sweetness without overpowering the distillery’s slightly rugged Highland character.
