Ardnamurchan Rum Cask Release is a limited-edition Highland single malt from Ardnamurchan Distillery on Scotland’s rugged west coast. The whisky is first matured in bourbon barrels and then finished in rum casks that previously held Caribbean rum, adding a clear tropical sweetness on top of the distillery’s gently smoky, coastal character.

The spirit is a mix of unpeated and lightly peated Ardnamurchan malt, giving a well-balanced combination of fruit, rum sweetness, spice and subtle peat smoke. The result is a full-bodied yet lively whisky with an oily texture, bright fruit and a faint maritime edge.

Flavour profile

• Appearance: Golden to light amber, rich and oily in the glass.

• Nose: Fruity and lightly smoky, with notes of lemon, ripe stone fruits, dried banana, vanilla, light caramel, sugarcane and a hint of rum sweetness and sea air.

• Palate: Tropical, creamy and gently spicy, showing candied grapefruit, pineapple, caramelised sugars, vanilla cream and soft, earthy peat smoke.

• Finish: Medium to long, warm and vibrant, with lingering tropical fruit, mild smoke, warming spice and a pleasant sweetness that slowly dries into oak and cocoa.

Serving suggestions
Enjoy Ardnamurchan Rum Cask Release neat in a tulip-shaped glass. A few drops of water can help open up the tropical notes and soften the spice. It pairs beautifully with dark chocolate, caramel-forward desserts or tropical fruit dishes, or simply as a complex, relaxing dram on its own.
