About this release
Part of Diageo’s Special Releases 2025, a limited one-off series where selected distilleries reveal new angles on their house style. For Clynelish, the focus is the golden wax note and sunlit fruit. Casks were chosen to elevate the spirit’s natural character rather than heavy wood influence, so the clean, waxy mouthfeel and lightly salty, floral profile take center stage. The result feels both familiar and new: classic Clynelish with extra depth, sheen, and length.
Nose
Beeswax, light honey and citrus zest, touched by sea breeze, white flowers, and a gentle hint of vanilla.
Palate
Silky and waxy with fresh pear and apple, candied citrus, honey cake, and delicate, spicy oak. A subtle mineral salinity carries the flavor without dominating.
Finish
Long, clean and dry—wax, citrus oils and refined maritime notes lingering with a fine, spicy warmth.
Serve & pair
Neat in a tulip glass, or add a few drops of water to open the fruit and wax. Excellent with aged hard cheeses, butter-poached shellfish, salted almonds, or around 70% dark chocolate.
