Planteray Rum (formerly Plantation) is the rum house linked to Maison Ferrand in Cognac, operating as a modern “rum house” rather than a single distillery. They partner with producers across multiple rum regions, select distillates and casks, and shape a recognizable house style through blending and cask work. A key hallmark is a cask-driven, aromatic profile that’s designed to work both behind the bar and as an easy sipper.
Planteray Rum – Experience Box is a tasting set of six 10 cl miniatures, created to showcase a wide cross-section of Planteray’s styles—from bright and crisp to dark and spiced, plus a distinctly Jamaican, ester-driven profile and a richer, more polished aged expression. It’s ideal as a gift or for hosting a structured rum tasting at home.
Contents (6 x 10 cl)
3 Stars – bright, crisp, bartender-friendly; great in Daiquiris and highballs.
Original Dark – darker, smooth and spiced with molasses, caramel and vanilla tones.
Grande Réserve (Barbados) – rounded, cask-led elegance with vanilla, caramel and gentle spice.
Gran Añejo (Guatemala/Belize) – softer, fuller style with a sweeter spice profile, often chocolate/vanilla-leaning.
Xaymaca Special Dry (Jamaica) – dry, ester-forward tropical “funk”; excellent for tiki and Daiquiris.
XO 20th Anniversary (Barbados) – more polished, richer, dessert-spice character with deeper oak notes.
Tasting tips
Try a light-to-intense order: 3 Stars → Grande Réserve → Gran Añejo → Original Dark → Xaymaca → XO.
A drop of water can open up the more intense pours.
Give each glass a minute of air—rum shifts quickly with oxygen.
