Hampden Estate releases a new edition of their popular “Great House” every year—a tribute to the grand old residence built in 1779, which still stands on the estate. The first floor was used for rum storage until the 20th century. Today, the house welcomes visitors and rum enthusiasts who have made the pilgrimage to Jamaica. The rum is 100% tropically aged, pot still rum (a blend of different marks). Bottled at 57% ABV. As usual, availability is limited.

Color: Deep golden.
Nose: Dense and rich with notes of fermented pineapple, vanilla and candied ginger.
Palate: Intense rum with loads of tropical fruit—especially banana—liquorice, and a touch of chili. Layered, complex and with a spicy finish.
Serving suggestion: Best enjoyed neat.
