More than 120 distilleries across Scotland balance human skill with the forces of nature to create a medley of extraordinary flavours. The distinct character of each cask enables the whisky to evolve, finding its own balance of taste and aroma. In this collection, we celebrate Scotch whisky’s extraordinary diversity with twenty-five single cask whiskies from twenty-five of Scotland’s finest distilleries. Since 2005, Elixir Distillers has bottled its best single casks under The Single Malts of Scotland range, showcasing each distillery’s distinct fingerprint at a precise moment of maturation. Each bottling has a unique cask number and is bottled, without chill-filtration or colouring, at the optimum strength to show off its individual character. The aim is to find and share drams that will create lasting memories through flavour. From the rugged whisky of the northern Orkney islands to the gentle malts of the southern Lowlands, we have dug deep into our rich stocks of whisky to find some of the world’s most lauded malts – including Islay’s famous L A P H R O A I G, acclaimed Highlander C L Y N E L I S H and lost Speysider I M P E R I A L – while also shining a light on some of Scotland’s hidden gems, including L I N K W O O D from Speyside and L E D A I G from the Isle of Mull. Ranging in age from seven to 31 years, these whiskies have been matured in a variety of casks – ex-bourbon barrels, hogsheads, ex-sherry butts – and exhibit the variety in style and flavour to be found across the spectrum of single malt Scotch whisky.
