The brand is produced by The GlenAllachie Distillery, founded in 1967 in the heart of Speyside. Under the leadership of Master Distiller Billy Walker, the distillery has become renowned for rich, complex releases. With Meikle T\u00f2ir, GlenAllachie takes a bold step into peated whisky, something rarely seen in Speyside.
\nAbout the whisky
\nThe Turbo is a heavily peated single malt, measuring around 70 PPM, which gives it an intense smoky profile. Matured for five years in a mix of American virgin oak casks and Oloroso sherry hogsheads, the whisky combines sweetness, spice, and depth. Bottled at 50% ABV, with no chill filtration and no added color, it offers a natural and powerful character.
\nFlavor profile
\nOn the nose, there are notes of smoked blood orange, manuka honey, cinnamon spice, dark chocolate, and roasted hazelnuts. The palate reveals leather, baking spices, and cigar box, followed by honey, dried red fruits, and a touch of salted caramel. The finish is long and robust, with burnt orange peel, toasted oak, and lingering peat smoke.
