Ruby red in the glass with purple hues. The aroma is filled with spicy notes and underlying hints of summer berries. The taste is warm, with notes of pepper, followed by raspberry, plum, and acacia.<\/p>\n
Starting with a pure base spirit, lightly pressed Shiraz grapes are added, giving the gin its deep ruby-red color. After that, juniper, cardamom, star anise, bitter almonds, acacia berries, and pepper berries are incorporated, creating the gin\u2019s impressive aromatic character and complexity.<\/p>\n

\nSince its inception, Australian winery R.L. Buller & Son has evolved from being \u2013 one might almost say \u2013 an ordinary producer of fortified and table wines to achieving an almost cult-like status within the world of fortified wines. Buller has specialized in a unique style of fortified wine made using the traditional Spanish solera system for sherry. The finished wines are usually at least 10 years old on average, while specialties like Calliope approach an average of 50 years. The 22-hectare Buller Wines Estate Vineyard was planted by Reginald Langdon Buller in the early 1920s. \nThis is a pretty wild mash-up \u2013 an Australian gin that includes Shiraz red wine grapes, a variety widely grown in Australia. I must say, it\u2019s an incredible combination that results in a gin with multiple layers and nuanced flavors. It offers aromas of fresh red berries \u2013 raspberry and strawberry \u2013 as well as pepper, licorice, and honey. It\u2019s clear that the grapes add an extra and incredibly exciting element to this gin. It\u2019s brilliant in a cocktail, for example, a classic Negroni, where the flavors truly shine. An impressive gin!<\/p>\n
