About the Product
\nA delicious Irish example of triple-distilled Single Malt whiskey. This is a delicate and smooth whiskey made exclusively from malted Irish barley, aged in two stages: first in American oak casks that previously held bourbon, and then in European oak casks that previously held Oloroso sherry.<\/p>\n
The whiskey has an alcohol content of 40%.<\/p>\n

Once, the Emerald Isle was the world’s largest whiskey producer, and the Irish still claim they \u2013 not the Scots \u2013 invented the golden drink. However, due to a prolonged series of challenges \u2013 such as famine, Prohibition, and an unwillingness to adapt to a changing market \u2013 the Irish whiskey industry underwent a gradual yet fatal collapse, leaving only two active distilleries on the entire island by 1970.<\/p>\n
Fortunately, the tide has finally begun to turn for Irish whiskey, with many new distilleries emerging across the island. Walsh Whiskey, founded in 1999 by husband-and-wife team Bernard and Rosemary Walsh, aims to be at the forefront of this Irish whiskey renaissance. They achieve this with their two product lines of Irish whiskey: Writer\u2019s Tears and The Irishman.<\/p>\n
