This whiskey is based on the same foundation as The Irishman \u2013 The Harvest, making it a unique blend of Single Malt and Single Pot Still Irish Whiskey. The blend consists of approximately 70% Single Malt and 30% Single Pot Still.<\/p>\n
The Irishman \u2013 Caribbean Cask Irish Whiskey is bottled non-chill filtered at an ABV of 46%.<\/p>\n
Tasting Notes

The taste is warm and deep. The meeting of Single Malt and Single Pot Still whiskey results in a light sweetness and just the right amount of spice \u2013 think apple pie and cloves.<\/p>\n

Irish whiskey (spelled with an \u2018e\u2019) has had a tough couple of centuries. Once, the Emerald Isle was the largest whiskey producer in the world, and the Irish still claim that they \u2013 not the Scots \u2013 invented the golden drink. However, a series of challenges, such as famine, Prohibition, and an unwillingness to adapt to a changing market, caused the Irish whiskey industry to gradually collapse. By 1970, only two active distilleries remained on the entire island!<\/p>\n
Fortunately, the tide has (finally) turned for Irish whiskey, and many new distilleries are now emerging across the island. Founded in 1999 by husband and wife Bernard and Rosemary Walsh, Walsh Whiskey aims to lead this Irish whiskey renaissance. They do so with two product lines: Writer\u2019s Tears and The Irishman.<\/p>\n
