Orkney is steeped in Norse folklore and the story of Sigurd the dragon-slayer \u2013 who licked dragon\u2019s blood from his thumb and was granted powers of wisdom and prophesy – inspired this single malt whisky\u2019s name and bold dramatic character.<\/p>\n
With its character predominantly driven by slow maturation in sherry seasoned European oak casks and a higher proportion of Orkney peated malt, you\u2019ll find notes of rich vanilla cream infused with warm winter spices, the tang of sun-ripened lemons glazed with sweet heather honey, and clouds of aromatic peat smoke.<\/p>\n
Intensely smoky and rich, this whisky is fantastic served with lamb cutlets grilled with fresh mint or alongside a creamy blue-veined cheese.<\/p>\n
