It is a <strong data-start=\"2456\" data-end=\"2472\">blended malt<\/strong> made from <strong data-start=\"2483\" data-end=\"2551\">three different single malts from Islay\u2019s north and south coasts<\/strong>, though the exact distilleries are not disclosed.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2641\" data-end=\"3140\">The production is clearly built to deliver both smoky depth and sweet, spiced richness. The whisky has been matured in a combination of <strong data-start=\"2777\" data-end=\"2819\">Pedro Xim\u00e9nez and Oloroso sherry casks<\/strong>, <strong data-start=\"2821\" data-end=\"2849\">first-fill bourbon casks<\/strong>, and <strong data-start=\"2855\" data-end=\"2908\">lightly toasted and lightly charred new oak casks<\/strong>, giving it a more layered profile than a purely peat-driven Islay whisky. It is bottled at <strong data-start=\"3000\" data-end=\"3013\">54.5% ABV<\/strong>, in <strong data-start=\"3018\" data-end=\"3028\">700 ml<\/strong>, and is described as <strong data-start=\"3050\" data-end=\"3072\">non-chill filtered<\/strong> and <strong data-start=\"3077\" data-end=\"3101\">without added colour<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"3142\" data-end=\"3765\">In the glass, the flavour moves between <strong data-start=\"3182\" data-end=\"3226\">campfire smoke, peat, and dark chocolate<\/strong>, but also toward <strong data-start=\"3244\" data-end=\"3325\">candied orange, ginger-spiced biscuit, grilled notes, and toasted marshmallow<\/strong>. Several descriptions connect it directly to the feeling of sitting by a fire on Islay with s\u2019mores in hand, which is actually a very accurate way to understand the style: smoky, warm, spicy, and at the same time surprisingly generous in sweetness. The overall impression is therefore both powerful and playful, with clear Islay character but also more dessert-like depth than many classic peat bombs.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"3767\" data-end=\"4188\">This is a whisky that works particularly well <strong data-start=\"3813\" data-end=\"3821\">neat<\/strong>, ideally with a little time in the glass so both the smoke and the sweeter cask notes can fully open up.
