Powerful tannins in a wine that still manages to be harmonious and in balance. Fresh and lively wine in an otherwise warm year with dark notes of blackcurrants, blackberries, blueberries, plums and violets. Dry and very aromatic.

The grapes were picked in the early morning. First Cabernet Franc on March 4th and finally Cabernet Sauvignon at the end of the month. The grapes were double sorted to remove bad grapes, leaves and other unwanted greens. After the grapes were carefully crushed, they fermented in stainless steel – individually. The wine was collected in July and aged for 22 months with malolactic fermentation. 80% was aged in small French casks, of which 2/3 were new.

99 POINTS James Suckling
97 POINT decanter.com
96 POINTS robertparker.com

American Robert Mondavi and Eduardo Chadwick from Chilean Errazuriz created Seña together. The goal was to create a world-class Chilean wine. It was completely successful with Seña. In 1999 they bought together 350 hectares in the upper part of Valle de Aconcagua, where they planted 42 hectares on the best exposed slopes with Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Petit Verdot, Cabernet Franc, Malbec and Carmenere. Today, Seña is part of Viña Errazuriz.

About Viña Errazuriz
It was the famous Don Maximiano Errázuriz who founded Viña Errázuriz in 1870. With great visions for the future and his innovative ideas, he planted the first French grape varieties in the Aconcagua Valley. In addition to the great vinous involvement, Errázuriz was also a politician and diplomat. He was born in Santiago in 1832, into a family of Basque origin that came to Chile in 1735. Since then, two members of the family have been presidents, two have been archbishops of Santiago and others have been diplomats, writers and businessmen who have contributed to the development of Chile. His great work was handed down to future generations in the family, and in just over a century his descendants consolidated the winery and placed their wines among the absolute best in the entire continent of South America. Today, Viña Errazuriz is therefore world famous for wines of very high quality.

Environmentally conscious world class
Viña Errazuriz is environmentally aware and future-oriented. In 2008, it was the first Chilean winery to introduce lightweight bottles to reduce CO2 emissions during both production and transport. Errazuriz also practices sustainable wine production, and the fields are cultivated organically as much as possible. The crowning achievement is – so far – the inauguration in 2010 of the new sustainable winery, Don Maximiano Icon Winery, in the Aconcagua Valley, as well as the official approval in 2011 as a sustainable company.

Roughly speaking, Errazuriz divides its wines into four categories
Estate Reserva: The basis of the house, where the quality is already far ahead of other Chilean wine houses’ “luxury editions”.
Reserva: From specially selected fields. A further development of the Estate Reserva wines, often with slightly longer/intense barrel ageing. Including i.a. the popular Max Reserva series.
Specialties: E.g. Single Vineyard, Wild Fermented, Organic and Late Harvest
Icon wines: Like Viñedo Chadwick, Seña, Founder’s Reserve and KAI. Belongs not only to the Chilean wine elite, but also to the world elite.

"slide_template_v7":"

7704,2789,2799

0":"post-51306","1":"product","2":"type-product","3":"status-publish","4":"has-post-thumbnail","6":"product_cat-fine-wine-en","7":"product_cat-wine","8":"product_cat-red-wine","9":"pa_aargang-2019-en","10":"pa_drue-cabernet-franc-en","11":"pa_drue-cabernet-sauvignon-en","12":"pa_drue-carmenere-en","13":"pa_drue-merlot-en","14":"pa_land-chile-en","15":"pa_procent-14-5-en","16":"pa_producent-vina-errazuriz-en","17":"pa_region-aconcagua-valley-en","18":"pa_serveringstemperatur-18-20-en","19":"pa_volume-75-en","21":"first","22":"instock","23":"taxable","24":"shipping-taxable","25":"purchasable","26":"product-type-simple
["GET
