\nDark mahogany color, bright and transparent with copper highlights. The nose is clean, elegant and round, with hints of Sherry that has aged in barrels. \nS\u00e1nchez Romate Hnos. 1781 Jerez de la Frontera. For centuries the city was famous in the world for its Sherry wines, and at the end of the eighteenth century it had become a hive of commercial activities thanks to the great international demand for these wines. With some of the oldest wineries of Spain, Jerez attracted merchants from near and far. However, it was a Spaniard, Juan S\u00e1nchez de la Torre, who founded the’S\u00e1nchez Romate Hermanos winery, one of the few remaining wineries in the Jerez Appellation of Origin that is still in the hands of local owners – and less so in the hands of family . What drove Juan S\u00e1nchez de la Torre was his restless nature and passion for Jerez and its wine heritage. Over time, the winery grew and adapted to the successive technical advances that were taking place while maintaining respect for traditional methods. More than a century after its founding, the winery became a milestone when in 1887 the fourth generation of the S\u00e1nchez Romate family decided to create an exclusive brandy for their family and circle of closest friends. This was the’beginning of Cardenal Mendoza Solera Gran Reserva, the company’s flagship brand.
