Everything is turned a bit on its head in this bottling. Perhaps very appropriate as Christmas is the time of surprises.
\nThe short tropical aging in Bourbon barrels gives a lovely soft and fresh character with plenty of coconut, citrus, flamb\u00e9ed bananas, vanilla and marzipan.
\nThen 14 years in French oak casks which previously contained Ferrand Grande Champagne Cognac. The European oak hits the palate with everything we like. Namely the dark warm spices such as cinnamon, nutmeg, pepper, flower pollen, Cr\u00eame Br\u00fbll\u00e9e and juicy stone fruits.
\nIn the aftertaste, the vanilla returns, along with more spices, honey and tingling licorice and more coconut.<\/p>\n
All in all, a wonderful Barbados rum distilled both on Pot Still and Column. The rum has a great elegance and breed, with layers upon layers of aroma and flavor from the many years of aging in casks. Superior quality at a very attractive price.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
