A brilliant ruby red color and a combination of aromas of fresh red fruits with herbal and balsamic notes characteristic of the variety, all framed by roasted coffee, caramel and oak pastries. The taste is soft, with flavors of cherries, plums and a subtle note of peppermint. A wine with a good volume and fine tannins, which gives a very smooth and pleasant mouthfeel.<\/p>\n
The grapes were hand picked early in the morning and double sorted, crushed and poured into stainless steel tanks to ferment. The maceration lasted 15-25 days. 75% of the wine was aged for six months in oak barrels.<\/p>\n

The estate wines are a tribute to the Errazuriz estate, which has been home to Vi\u00f1a Err\u00e1zuriz for six generations. These Reserva wines are a fine reflection of the individual grape, which, combined with a six-month aging in French oak barrels, makes them stand out for their freshness, fruit and balance.<\/p>\n
The grapes come from vineyards in the Aconcagua and Maipo Valleys. The vineyards of Aconcagua are located north of Santiago, close to the Pacific coast on hills 300 meters above sea level. Both valleys have a terrific Mediterranean climate with moderately hot summer days and cool nights with a gentle night breeze that allows the grapes to develop intense and ripe flavors.<\/p>\n
About Vi\u00f1a Errazuriz
\nIt was the famous Don Maximiano Err\u00e1zuriz who founded Vi\u00f1a Err\u00e1zuriz in 1870. With great visions for the future and his innovative ideas, he planted the first French grape varieties in the Aconcagua Valley. In addition to the great vinous involvement, Err\u00e1zuriz was also a politician and diplomat. He was born in Santiago in 1832, into a family of Basque origin that came to Chile in 1735. Since then, two members of the family have been presidents, two have been archbishops of Santiago and others have been diplomats, writers and businessmen who have contributed to the development of Chile. His great work was handed down to future generations in the family, and in just over a century his descendants consolidated the winery and placed their wines among the absolute best in the entire continent of South America. Today, Vi\u00f1a Errazuriz is therefore world famous for wines of very high quality.<\/p>\n
Environmentally conscious world class
\nVi\u00f1a Errazuriz is environmentally aware and future-oriented. In 2008, it was the first Chilean winery to introduce lightweight bottles to reduce CO2 emissions during both production and transport. Errazuriz also practices sustainable wine production, and the fields are cultivated organically as much as possible. The crowning achievement is \u2013 so far \u2013 the inauguration in 2010 of the new sustainable winery, Don Maximiano Icon Winery, in the Aconcagua Valley, as well as the official approval in 2011 as a sustainable company.<\/p>\n
Roughly speaking, Errazuriz divides its wines into four categories
\nEstate Reserva: The basis of the house, where the quality is already far ahead of other Chilean wine houses’ “luxury editions”.
\nReserva: From specially selected fields. A further development of the Estate Reserva wines, often with slightly longer\/intense barrel ageing. Including i.a. the popular Max Reserva series.
\nSpecialties: E.g. Single Vineyard, Wild Fermented, Organic and Late Harvest
