Graham\u2019s Late Bottled Vintage 2020<\/strong> is a rich yet refined LBV Port made from a single harvest and matured for several years in large oak vats before bottling. The grapes come from Graham\u2019s four prime Douro estates, and the blend is based on classic Portuguese varieties such as Touriga Franca, Touriga Nacional, Sous\u00e3o, Alicante Bouschet, Tinta Amarela and Tinta Barroca. Bottled at around 20% ABV, it is fully ready to drink on release.<\/p>\n

Style & origin<\/h3>\n

LBV is crafted in the spirit of Vintage Port but designed to be approachable sooner: longer cask ageing softens the tannins and allows the wine to be enjoyed without extended bottle aging. Graham\u2019s 2020 LBV is very much in the house style \u2013 generous, fruit-driven and structured, with excellent purity and freshness.<\/p>\n

Nose<\/h3>\n

The nose is lifted, expressive and complex:<\/p>\n

    floral notes of rose, orange blossom and honeysuckle<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    juicy red fruits \u2013 cherries, raspberries and redcurrants<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    deeper black cherry, blackberry and plum tones<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  • \n

    hints of cocoa, liquorice and fine spice in the background<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Palate<\/h3>\n

    On the palate, the wine is full-bodied, velvety and vibrant:<\/p>\n

      an initial wave of intense red and dark fruit \u2013 black cherry, plum, blackberry<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

      sweet notes reminiscent of cherry compote, figs and raisins<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

      tingling, peppery tannins providing structure and grip<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    • \n

      bright acidity that brings freshness and keeps the sweetness in balance<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      The overall impression is rich and concentrated but never heavy.<\/p>\n

      Finish<\/h3>\n

        Serving & food<\/h3>\n

        Serve slightly chilled at 14\u201316 \u00b0C in a proper Port or small white-wine glass. It pairs beautifully with dark chocolate desserts, chocolate tart, brownies, and with semi-cured and cured cheeses such as Cheddar and Manchego.
